fuel stays on 8 stars
huhn gets from just over 8stars to just over 9stars
wolf gets from just over 8stars to right in between 9 and 10 stars.
same with carey
So no-one goes to 10 stars, some of the 7 stars will go to 8stars and so on.
sound right, but what would be the point right now?
We still don't have any rewards for 8, 9, and 10 star members.

Back when the site started I did create 'Negative Points.'
-1 point for each image of your that gets cencored/deleted.
Which I keep track of but do not display. It is used to weed out bad users.
We got complaints for this, and I decided it was bad to display negatives about anything. If you want to see this stat, message me and I can tell you how many negative points you have. |

Thank you for your post. I'm leaning towards changing uploads to two points each. Retroactive also.
However I would like to create the new rewards first. Don't expect to see this changes in the next few weeks on this topic, already pretty busy and have a couple other things I'm changing on the site first.

But Brettucker was right one point ( did I really Say that). In the other thread you mentioned that leaving reporting at one point. It needs to be worth at least the same amount of points as uploads. You can not give an unfair advantage to doubles. Please I ask members not to disscuss anymore what they think the reporting should be worth as it has already been fussed cussed and disscussed. Just leave it to Sam now that I have brought this also to his attention. He will decide on the points for reporting now. And I am sure all will agree when I say that leaving it at 1 point will not work. Thank you in advance for not arguing this any more

OK I had an idea to solve the problem I stated about posting at sites that delete the. I felt that 10 points is very good if the post stays active on a site. If it is deleted by the site it does not bring in anymore new members. My preposal to Sam was.
2 star points if the link got 5 refferels
3 more star points when the a link gets 100 referrels ( a total of 5 points)
5 more star points when a link gets 1000 referrels ( a total of 10 points)
Like I said Sam thought it was an excelent idea. And asked me to post it. |

I think I have found a solution. So that no one person is setting a arbatrary number.
Use Statistics
5 hits would still be 2 points
Take the total number of referrels divide it by the total number of links. This is the average number of hits (referrels) These members get 3 more points points. for the total of 5 points
Next take the average number of views per link multiple it by it by .25 (25%) and added that back to the average number of views. This is 75%. These members would get 5 more points For the total of 10 points.
This would reward the linkers that find sites that do not delete the link in a short period of time. I am sure it is very hard to find a place you can link that alows hot links.
The other reason I came up with this idea. Referrels is misleading. They are actualy hits or views as we call them here. The person that links can drop the link in a site. Click on it 5 times theirselves and have 10 points. If their ip address is not banned they just make up a new user name and do it agian. If You set the goal high. It stops the member from clicking on the link (it will get banned before they reach a high number). If in fact you do find a site that accept hot links and you post a hot new picture it will get the views.
I have heard the argument how hard it is to link. It is no harder than it is for me to find the sites I use to post pictures. These I think are at the 2 and 5 point level. The real hard part is finding a place that allows hotlinks. I can't find a one. But, I do know they are out there. For these people I feel they should get the full 10 points.
And if anyone says they have never clicked on their own link 5 times . I say your full of BS. |

I think my idea of the statisics is a good idea. But to stop arguments on what points sould be used to get a total of 5 points and 10 points. It should be left up to Sam. This way he made the decession. And not me or any other members. We all could come up with diffrent numbers. And get in to one big argument. From here on out lets not fight over were the lines should be drawn. If you want to argue aabout wheather a scale should or should not be used. Be my guest. If Sam takes my idea the more view you get the more star points at all. I do think after looking at it 1000 points is a bit high. The use of statistics should help make it more realistic.

I also think that is the best solution to use the average number links/referrals as base for getting star points because this is a value basing on real value dates.
sometimes math can be really helpful.  |
