After listening to many of the members talk about how hard it is to get referrels. And some of the ideas to make posting in other forums. I do believe it is tough to post on some sites. While easier on others ( there are more sites you get banned on than sites you don't). I proposed a plan to Sam to reward good links That don't get deleted in a very short period of time. Sam felt it was a good idea and asked me to post it here.
The plan is based on
2 points for just getting your link posted and 5 views on a site ( you can view your link 5 times to get the 2 point. Thats why this is so low.
3 more points are added when you reach 100 views. For a total of 5 points. 100 views (referrals). How I came up with 100 views. This is the average number of views that the links seem to get
5 more points for, I will say 300 views. For a total of 10 points for a link that gets 300 views. This figure of 300 might need to be ajusted . The figure I pruposed was 75% of the total number of views for the average link.
If refferals are the number one reason for the links to be worth 10 points. Should not the full 10 points be given to those links that bring in the most referrels (views). The longer a link stays up at a site the more views it will get.
Huhn's rules for posting in other forums is a great set of rules. If only there was a way to enforce these rules. I think this would help enforce his rules.
And one other point Huhn made that was a good one. Huhn is not linking much any more. Because he feels that being here helping take care of this place is more important Huhn you speak from expierence. Others might ought to make note of this |

I too have also stopped linking though I still get the one or two referrals from previous links. However I think getting 300 views for a single referral is rather high, as when I check on the last linked most of the numbers I see are in single figures with a fair couple of double figures dotted around.
It is also getting harder to get a lot of views from a single link and it is not like in the beginning of linking when guys like FUEL or me would get a 1000+ views from a single referral. A good example of this is the picture below. You can see FUEL has got over 4000 views for mulitiple referrals. However you can see ejaypr later referred it yet only got 56 views from a single referral.

Good point shifty and well made. All I am looking for here is a good point level for this plan. That is why I said maybe a math formula might work best to find the point levels. For the 5 and 10 points. Your view is very helpful in this quest.But one thing we cant see. Is back a month or so. Are they still up running ang bringing in possible new members. I don't think mine is the best spot for the views to stand ...but I think it is a starting point. And I believe that Sam my be able to ge the figures to do it with. Again Shifty I do like your input.

I don't know if the levels are so good. 100 and 300 feels way too high.
When I was linking. One of the sites I used had 12000 members. I mostly got around 8-15 click on my links. If it was a great candid or photoshoot, they got 20-50.
I know you think this is a good idea coz if a link stays on the site it should get some clicks. The thing is... I have never got a link removed. But if a celebrity got her own thread, where all members can post pics and make comments. On a big site and in well-known celebrity threads a post gets lost fast.
For example:
I post a few links in a Jennifer Alba thread, it's some nice pics and they got, lets say 20-30 clicks pretty fast. If this is a popular site, many members will make comments on these and some are adding more pics. All of a sudden my post is on page 62 of 67. Even if the links was popular and was NOT removed, it's not displayed as much anymore. In a few weeks that thread could have around 80-90pages.

Not that many links gets more than single or double figures. And atm I can't see any link over 25 clicks on the last 100 links. |

(sry but I ignored Shifty, Brett, FUEL and the ones with less than a total of around 200 links)
So y not..
2 pts = 5 clicks
6 pts = 20 clicks
10pts = 50 clicks
I think the 10pts for linking should stay as it is, But if Sam decides to change things, I believe this is the best way. (note the 6pts instead of 5)

Please, please, please just leave it alone. You don't link. That is your choice. I suggest that from here on out, that Wolf gets a point for every point awarded to anyone on the site. Then he will have 10 stars in no time. No one will ever catch him & he will be the all time winner. Then the points won't matter anymore & you can quit f**king with them. Any body have a problem with that. Let's make it a "Man Law". |

Yeaa but current linking page does not give a big enough sample. That is why I have said it will be best if Sam does the math. He can get a bigger sample.
As for You Brettucker I like your Idea. But with a diffrent spin. If the linker uses someone elses uploaded photo besides their own they split the 10 points with the uploader. That seems fair. Some one did half the work to put the photo here they should get half the points.
One other question I have? If a link photo is a double and the double is deleted. Does the person that liked it loose 10 points?

the intention of this discussion isn't to hinder linking pics but only to stop wild linking. that should be understood by all of us.
I'm sure WolfWarrior knew that it wouldn't be easy to make a new star point system for the links. but I think we should agree with him that something must happen. the mathematical way to use the average is a good base. nickiname22 makes another good point if we should use all or only current value dates.
now we should think about the facts what's the best solution for a new but also a fair star point system for links. |

All is what mathmaticians use. This gives you a larger data base and less room for error. All data is what I suggest. |
