I have noticed some unnecessary picture enlargement.

Picture enlargement degrades the quality of the image.

Just because a picture is enlarged does not mean it will be saved over smaller images.

If I catch anyone enlarging pictures for any negative purpose, I will have to disable there account.

I hope everyone understands, please let me know if you have questions about this.

I am always fair. Private message me if you have personal concerns.

lol, sorry for being so harsh. had a rough day.

enlarging images in hopes I would delete the correct size image just really annoyed me.

I want to make sure I understand. I often look for higher quality, higher resolutions of pictures previously posted. When I post them, I report the two pictures as doubles. Generally you erase the smaller one and keep the larger. I am assuming by enlargements you mean taking a small picture and editing it to make it larger as opposed to what I am talking about.

correct, increasing the image dimensions (height and width) often blurs the image and creates a lower quality image.

the thumbnails to these images will look identical, however the dimensions will show the opposite of what is expected. the image with larger size (x and y) is of lower quality. which we don't want.

never enlarge. just upload the small image.

What about this??

The pic to the right shows us the important part of the pic to the left
But it seems like someone cutted out that piece from the full picture and enlarged it to "better" size.

how can we make sure that a picture we find on the net is not an "unnecessary picture enlargement" vs. being an actual better picture? It would be really unfair and it would suck for someone to get banned for uploading it if they didn't know
